Cam asta era ideea in aricolul respectiv.

Rujurile contineau plumb.

Plumbul e o substanta cancerigena. Marcile de ruj care contin plumb, sint:

- YVES SAINT LAURENT
- CHRISTIAN DIOR
- LANCOME
- CLINIQUE
- ESTEE LAUDER
- SHISEIDO
- CHANEL (lip conditioner)
- MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK

Substantele tip Dioxina provoaca cancer mamar.

Lead in lipstick

Over the last few years, many e-mails have been circulated about lead in lipstick. The e-mails claim that several cosmetics companies have lowered their prices on certain lipsticks because they contain lead, and that lead causes cancer.

Studies of workers exposed to lead in mining or smelting operations suggest that exposure to high levels of lead causes cancer. However, lead exists in the environment, both naturally and as a result of human activity. Very low (trace) levels are present in many substances, including foods.
Lead is banned in Canadian cosmetics. Lead can’t be intentionally added as an ingredient in cosmetics, and no cosmetic can contain more than trace levels of lead.
Currently, there are no set maximums for the amount of “trace lead” found in cosmetics in Canada or the United States. According to the cosmetics division of Health Canada, potential lead exposure from cosmetics is not sufficient to be of concern. In addition, there is no scientific evidence that any of these lipsticks contain more than trace levels of lead, similar to levels found in the environment.

In October 2007, the U.S.-based Campaign for Safe Cosmetics analysed 33 lipsticks and found detectable levels of lead in many of them. These reported levels exceeded the FDA acceptable level for candy, but are still lower than Health Canada ’s acceptable level. The most likely source of this lead is from impurities in raw materials.

Update July 2008: According to Health Canada they have recently completed lead testing on a wide range of lipsticks. They found no detectable levels of lead in most products, and those that contained detectable levels were still considered to be below the safe level.
